Program Overview

Who They Are

Foster Closet is a Northeast Florida nonprofit dedicated to providing support to foster families and the children they care for. They operate a thrift store model where 100% of proceeds go directly back into serving the foster care community — supplying clothing, household items, toys, and essentials to families and children in NEFL's foster care system.

Foster Closet believes that every child deserves to have what they need — not just the basics, but the dignity of having their own belongings. They partner with local agencies, churches, and community donors to keep their shelves stocked and their doors open for every foster family that needs support.

How They Help

Free Clothing & Supplies

Foster Closet provides free clothing, shoes, hygiene products, toys, and household essentials to foster families and children in Northeast Florida. When a child enters care with nothing, Foster Closet ensures they leave with what they need — giving them a sense of dignity and belonging from day one.

Foster Closet Thrift Store

Foster Closet operates a thrift store where community members can shop with a purpose. Every purchase directly supports foster families in NEFL. The store model allows Foster Closet to sustain its mission through community shopping while expanding the resources available to the children and families they serve.

Online Support & Donations

Can't shop in person? Foster Closet accepts online donations and offers online shopping through their store platform. A portion of every purchase goes directly to supporting foster families — making it easy for anyone, anywhere, to contribute to the wellbeing of children in Northeast Florida's foster care system.

Community Partnerships

Foster Closet partners with local foster care agencies, churches, schools, and community organizations across NEFL to identify families in need and connect them with resources. Their collaborative approach ensures no foster family falls through the cracks and every child has an advocate in their corner.
