Program Overview

Who They Are

The Hands and Feet is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in West Palm Beach, Florida — built around one urgent conviction: when a child or family enters the child welfare system, they shouldn't have to wait days or weeks to feel supported. The Hands and Feet delivers essential items and resources within 48 hours of a referral, ensuring families experience the support of a caring community exactly when they need it most.

Through two signature programs — the Supporting Hands Program and the Waves of Healing Program — The Hands and Feet serves foster, kinship, and biological families with open child welfare cases, as well as adoptive families navigating post-adoption life. Their model is built on speed, compassion, and the belief that practical help and emotional hope belong together.

Programs & Services

How They Help

Child supported by The Hands and Feet — Florida child welfare services
Supporting Hands Program

Serves foster, kinship, and biological families with an open child welfare case — delivering essential items within 48 hours of a referral. No family navigating the child welfare system should face those first critical days without practical support, and The Hands and Feet makes sure they don't.

Waves of Healing Program

Provides post-adoption support and financial assistance for adoption-competent mental health services — helping adoptive families sustain healing long after permanency is finalized. Adoption is not the end of the journey; it is the beginning, and Waves of Healing walks alongside families through what comes next.

48-Hour Essential Item Delivery

When a referral comes in, The Hands and Feet acts within 48 hours — assembling and delivering essential items directly to families. Speed is part of their model because the moment a family most needs to feel supported is right when their child welfare case begins, not weeks later when logistics are sorted.

Community Wishlists & Donation Drives

Active wishlists allow donors to purchase specific needed items year-round. Volunteers can sort donations at the warehouse or host a community drive. Every financial or in-kind contribution goes directly toward delivering help and hope within 48 hours.
