Program Overview

Who They Are

Lambswear is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Indianapolis, Indiana — run entirely by a 6-person volunteer board and powered by the generosity of the community. Their mission is beautifully simple: collect gently used children's clothing and give it away free to any family in the Indianapolis area who needs it.

Inspired by Psalm 23 and a conviction that the community is called to shepherd those in need, Lambswear accepts clothing donations in sizes newborn through 14/16 youth and distributes them with no qualifiers — any family in the Indianapolis area can order clothing through the website. Foster, kinship, and biological families in crisis are all welcome. No child should go without because their family can't afford what they need.

How They Help

Free Children's Clothing

Lambswear distributes gently used children's clothing completely free to families in need — with no qualifiers. Any family in the Indianapolis area can order clothing through lambswear.org. Clothing sizes run newborn through 14/16 youth, covering children of every age who might need support.

Foster, Kinship & Biological Families

Lambswear serves foster families, kinship caregivers, and biological families in crisis throughout Indianapolis. No family is turned away based on the type of placement or situation — the conviction is simple: every child in need deserves clothing, regardless of how they got there.

Community Clothing Donations

Local volunteers can schedule warehouse time or drop off gently used children's clothing in sizes newborn through 14/16 youth. Donations keep the closet stocked and the mission running — and the entire operation runs on volunteer effort alone, making every donated item and hour of service count.

Underwear & Socks Drive

Lambswear has an ongoing, critical need for new underwear and socks for boys and girls in sizes 2T–14/16 — 18,000 pairs needed annually. This is one of the most impactful ways community members can support the mission, as new undergarments cannot be donated used and are always in short supply.
