Program Overview

Who They Are

Founded in 1972, Ennis Center for Children has spent over 50 years serving Michigan's most vulnerable children and families. Based in Dearborn and serving communities across Southeast Michigan, they provide a comprehensive continuum of services spanning foster care, adoption, juvenile justice, and family preservation — all centered on the belief that every child deserves a safe, stable, and loving home.

Ennis Center is licensed by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and accredited by the Council on Accreditation. Their experienced team of social workers, counselors, and support staff work tirelessly to recruit and support foster and adoptive families, provide trauma-informed care, and advocate for children's rights throughout Michigan's child welfare and juvenile justice systems.

How They Help

Ennis Center — Committed to Helping Families in Crisis
Foster Care Services

Ennis Center recruits, trains, and licenses foster families across Southeast Michigan — providing placement support, ongoing training, and wraparound services. Their licensed foster care program is committed to finding the right match for every child, ensuring stability and healing while working toward reunification or permanent placement.

Adoption Services

Ennis Center facilitates domestic adoptions for children in Michigan's foster care system — guiding families through every step of the process from home study through legal finalization. Post-adoption support services help families thrive long after placement, ensuring children experience true permanency and belonging in their new homes.

Juvenile Justice Services

Ennis Center provides community-based juvenile justice services across Michigan — including residential treatment, community supervision, and reentry support for youth involved in the justice system. Their trauma-informed approach addresses the underlying causes of youth behavior while building skills, connections, and pathways to a positive future.

Family Preservation & Support

Through family preservation services, case management, and community-based support programs, Ennis Center helps Michigan families in crisis stabilize and heal. Their goal is always to keep families safely together whenever possible — reducing unnecessary foster care placements while ensuring children have the safety, stability, and love they deserve.
