Program Overview
Who They Are
Rainie's Foster Closet was founded in September 2019 by sisters Jessica Dybdahl and Alicia Moeller — inspired by their own journey through foster care. The name honors their grandmother, Lorraine 'Rainie' Campbell, who was lovingly nicknamed by her husband of 60 years. Their mission is simple: no foster family should ever scramble alone to find what a child needs.
Now in their expanded home at 100 Ridge Road in North Tonawanda — within the Twin Cities Community Outreach Campus alongside the NT Clothing Closet and Food Pantry — Rainie's has grown into a powerful community hub. Entirely volunteer-run and donation-powered, they serve foster and kinship families across Western New York with free clothing, essentials, gear, and the kind of compassionate care that makes every family feel seen.

Programs & Services
How They Help
Rainie's provides free clothing, shoes, hygiene products, gear, and essentials to foster and kinship families across Western New York. Whether a child arrives in an emergency placement or needs seasonal items, Rainie's makes sure every child has what they need — with dignity, compassion, and zero red tape.
Rainie's is named for Lorraine 'Rainie' Campbell — grandmother of co-founders Jessica and Alicia — whose warmth and love inspired everything the organization stands for. Rainie embodied the kind of community care that her granddaughters now extend to hundreds of foster families each year across WNY.
When a foster parent says yes to an emergency placement, Rainie's is ready. They specialize in meeting children in their moment of need — providing clothing, essentials, and kindness at a moment's notice so every child feels welcome, safe, and seen from the very first night in their new home.
Rainie's runs entirely on volunteer power and community donations. From sorting and organizing clothing to staffing the closet and supporting events, volunteers are the heartbeat of the organization. Community members, businesses, churches, and schools across WNY can donate items or give time to directly serve local foster families.
