Program Overview
Who They Are
Honey from the Rock was founded by Kathy DiVincenzo — a licensed foster parent who discovered firsthand that Cuyahoga County leads Ohio in the number of children experiencing foster care, yet nothing like this existed. What she thought would be a small closet opened its doors as a 9,500-square-foot community hub. The name says it all: sweetness from an unlikely source.
Walk through their doors and it doesn't feel like a charity warehouse — it feels like a boutique. Racks organized by size, shelves lined with books and hygiene products, stuffed animals from the Cleveland Monsters' annual teddy bear toss. Every inch is designed with one word in mind: dignity. Support begins the moment a child enters care — their Gap Pack program provides emergent support right at MetroHealth Triage, before families even arrive at the closet.

How They Help
Support begins before families even arrive at the closet. Honey from the Rock's Gap Pack program provides emergent supplies directly at MetroHealth Triage the moment a child enters foster care — ensuring no child arrives at their new home with nothing. It's immediate, dignified support at the most vulnerable moment.
The 9,500 sq ft space is designed to feel like a boutique, not a charity warehouse — with clothing organized by size, hygiene products, books, stuffed animals from the Cleveland Monsters' teddy bear toss, and more. Every item is carefully curated: "If you wouldn't clothe your own child with it, please do not donate it." Quality and dignity are non-negotiable.
Based in Cuyahoga County — which leads Ohio in children experiencing foster care — Honey from the Rock serves foster, kinship, adoptive, and recently reunified biological families throughout the state of Ohio. No family is turned away based on county. Their mission is to reach every child in Ohio who needs support during one of life's most difficult transitions.
Honey from the Rock accepts donation drop-offs every Wednesday evening 6–8pm and is unapologetically selective — only quality items that preserve children's dignity are accepted. Volunteers are the backbone of the organization, sorting, organizing, and serving families with warmth and care. Community businesses, churches, and schools across Cleveland are welcome to partner.

Ways to Support
Honey from the Rock needs quality donations, volunteers, financial supporters, and community partners who believe every foster child deserves dignity.
